What To Expect
The Walk
Step into a unique Christmas experience, immersing yourself in the story of Christ’s birth in the context of what happened before and after! As you walk through history, engage your senses: look for signs and symbols, listen to historical characters, feel the ups and downs of the journey with your legs, and let your heart be touched by the hope of Christ’s coming 😊.
!Important!
Come prepared for a 1/2 mile walk through farm fields; some inclines, some uneven pathways, and possibly snow. Suitable for all ages, but take care if you are unsteady on your feet. Feel free to bring a sled for the littles. Dress for extended time in cold weather as this event is primarily outdoors, and the barn is not heated!!
Upon arrival you’ll be directed to park and gather by the south fire pit to join a walking group. While you wait for your turn, roast a marshmallow or frolick in the snow! The journey itself takes about 30 minutes.
Celebration In The Barn
At the end you’ll find welcoming faces, hot cider, crafts, picture books, art to look at in the barn, and a porta-potty for your relief 😁. Enjoy any of those activities, play in the snow, or have a nice chat by the north fire pit while you wait for the 35 minute program (singing and a short one-man drama) to begin!
After the program the “cookie barn” will open up with lots of homemade treats, made-from-scratch hot cocoa, decaf coffee, and water.
If you are unable to go through the walk, we hope you will still come to celebrate Christ’s birth with us at the barn at 5:30 and stay for treats afterwards!
